The RIM Assessment Toolkit developed by the First Nations Public Service Secretariat is now available! This self-guided tool allows First Nations government and organizations to complete RIM assessments at their own pace with access to supporting resources. It details how to conduct a RIM Assessment to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of a RIM program. The Toolkit is available in PDF and online format: https://fnps.ca/resources/#rimassessmenttoolkit

ARMA International's Essentials of RIM certificate program has been updated! The new version of the course is available February 1, 2023. Enrollment is now open. See: Essentials of RIM Certificate - ARMA International

Survey for RIM professionals

Dr. Patricia franks is currently leading a research study on "Employing AI for Retention & Disposition in Digital Information and Recordkeeping Systems." This one phase of the larger research agenda led by Dr. Luciana Duranti of the University of British Columbia (InterPARES Trust AI--https://interparestrustai.org/) strives to investigate the use of artificial intelligence in recordkeeping and content management by surveying information professionals.

The survey and the survey results should be of value to professionals in the US and Canada in the fields of records management, archives, information management, information technology, information governance, security, privacy, and more.

Artificial Intelligence is Among Us! ...but how AI is or could be employed for records/content management is not yet understood. Please take 15 minutes of your time to respond to this survey to help us better understand how digital content is being managed today and how AI is or could be employed to relieve pain points. All survey questions are optional. Findings from the survey will be shared with participating professional organizations; we expect to have findings ready to share by June 2023.

The survey is open through April 15, 2023. Participants may request a copy of the completed report. Contact for comments and questions: Dr. Pat Franks, patricia.franks@sjsu.edu
